Outdoor recreation activities such as hiking, cycling, canoeing and other
water based activities form an important part of the touring market. In
addition, destination outdoor recreation activities have been developed
to attract resident and non-resident visitors to the region. Leading attractions
include golfing, trail riding, fishing and water sports in the summer season
and downhill and cross-country skiing in the winter.
Below are a few stops of interest in Kelowna:
- Knox Mountain Park
Climb Knox Mountain Park and take an unparalleled view of the lake and
the city. A photographer's must! Follow Ellis Street north all the way
to the end.
- Water Front Park
Kelowna's scenic waterfront features a winding promenade, lagoons and
and island amphitheater. Water Street between Cawston Avenue and Gaston
Avenue. 
- Kelowna Art Gallery
Whether you enjoy contemporary or historical paintings, sculpture or
crafts, photography or printmaking, this newly opened gallery displays
a wide range of art from around the world. 1315 Water Street
- Orchard Industry / Wine Museum
Built originally as a packing house in 1917, the Laurel is Kelowna's
first designated heritage building. Both museums welcome visitors year
round for tours and special events. 1304 Ellis Street.
- Kelowna Museum
Exhibition themes at this museum include Natural History, Native History
and Local History. It houses the only Ethnography Gallery in the interior
of the province. 470 Queensway
- Kasugai Gardens
Created by Kelowna farmer Roy Tanaka, this splendid example of a Japanese
garden is a serene harbour of peace for visitors to enjoy, a re-creation
of nature in miniature. North of Queensway behind City Hall.
- City Park
The largest city beach park offers a long and sandy beach. Activities
for all ages ranging from lawn bowling to sailboat rentals to a Children's
Water park. Abbot Street between Harvey Avenue and Bernard Avenue.
- Veendam Gardens
These beautiful gardens located within City Park are a tribute to Kelowna's
Dutch sister city Veendam. The gardens offer a multitude of colourful
flower displays as well as a cenotaph. Located in City Park.
- Mission Creek Park
Boarding Mission Creek, this park offers a playground, picnic tables
and hiking trails in a quiet setting. Come and see the spawning of Kokanee
Salmon from mid-to-late September. Springfield Road past Orchard Park
Mall.
- EECO
An environmental education centre for the Okanagan offering environmental
displays year-round, including a composting education garden. Located
in Mission Creek Park.
- Benvoulin Heritage Church
Built in 1892 in the Gothic Revival style featuring high ceilings, vaulted
arches and steeples, this picturesque church served the community until
1964. 2279 Benvoulin Road.
- Father Pandosy Mission
In 1860, Father Pandosy started this mission in order to convert natives,
traders an new settlers. Since then it has been completely refurbished
and contains Kelowna's oldest structure.
- Guisachan Heritage Park
A Gaelic word meaning "place of firs", Guisachan house was designed
in the Indian colonial bungalow style. It now includes a restaurant
and is surrounded by a marvelous example of an Edwardian garden. 1060

- Geert Maas Sculpture Gardens
Internationally acclaimed artist Geert Maas invites the public to explore
his exceptional sculpture gardens, indoor gallery and studio. 250 Reynolds
Road.
